Apple’s Translate app can translate a text into several different languages in real-time, and now Apple has integrated it with Safari on iPhone, iPad, and MacBook as well. With just a click, you can translate any language page into any language that you want to read.
The Translate Webpages feature in Safari can automatically detect the webpage language and then provide a feature to translate it based on your preferred language. You can also change or update your preferences or add your preferred language.
The list of languages that Translate Webpages in Safari supports includes English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Russian, Ukrainian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Polish, Arabic, Dutch, Indonesian, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
Translate a Webpage in Safari on iPhone, iPad and MacBook
- Open Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or MacBook.
- Open a webpage that you want to translate.
- You will find an indicator in the address bar that indicates if the translation is available or not.
- Now, you need to tap on “aA” in the address bar.
- Select “Translate to English.” In my case, it is showing in English as I have preferred language English, and if you have some other preferred language, then it will show that language.
- A pop-up will appear; now you need to select “Enable Translation.”
- To revert or see the original webpage language, you need to select “View Original,” just above the “Report Translation Issue.”
Note: If you don’t find any indicator, it means that the webpage is not compatible to be translated.
How to Add More Language Options to Safari Webpage Translation on iPhone, iPad and MacBook
If you want to add more language options in your Safari so that the webpage translation has more options during the translation, you just need to follow these easy steps.
- Open Settings on your iPhone, iPad, and MacBook.
- Tap General -> Language & Region.
- Under “Preferred Language Order,” tap on “Add Language…“
- Tap your preferred language to keep the current language.
