YouTube is set to receive a new Generative AI feature that will enhance the YouTube viewing experience. Google has officially announced that they are currently testing two new AI generative features for YouTube which Google has named Comment Topics Summarized by AI and A Conversational AI Tool.
First time in the youtube history YouTube’s is set to receive a major AI boost from Google. Google recently launched ‘Bard AI’ which has proven to perform exceptionally well compared to other AI bots and we can say AI search engines. In September Google introduced an AI-powered tool that allows anyone to become a creator on its platform.
As we know YouTube videos sometimes have long comment threads. To solve this issue YouTube uses artificial intelligence to organize these comments into topics. This allows creators to use the summarized comments to quickly engage in new content discussions.
Generative AI upgrade in YouTube
Google in their blog today announced that they have started testing two significant AI generative features for YouTube comment topic summarization and a conversational AI tool. This is a valuable tool for users as it allows them to see a new ‘sort by topics’ option on selected videos. Google states that creators can use these comment summaries to easily engage in discussions in the comments. It can also assist them in understanding what their audiences are discussing and this will help to create content accordingly.
Google has also announced that YouTube will now feature a Conversational AI tool. According to Google This tool will provide answers to questions about the videos that user are watching and will offer background information such as suggestions for related content without interrupting your playback experience. Google has mentioned that Conversational AI will be initially available to a select group of users on specific videos and those with access will see a star icon.
Google has introduced the Comment Topics summarization feature for YouTube Premium members only right now. This feature is accessible on select English-language videos with large comment sections. The Conversational AI tool will become available to YouTube Premium members using Android devices in the United States in the coming weeks.
Google Also acknowledges that these AI features are experimental and the company acknowledges that they may not always be perfect. Therefore, these tests are accessible to a limited number of customers, allowing Google to collect feedback.
